As an experienced finance and real estate leader for over 20 years, Derek Copeland serves as Principal at MCM Partners. Derek Copeland manages the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Equity and Lending projects, connecting accredited investors with quality investment opportunities. His responsibilities include Investor Relations, Due Diligence, and overseeing Operations to drive strategic growth and investment success.
Previously, Mr. Copeland founded SilverRock Wealth Partners, providing clients with tailored retirement and estate planning financial strategies. His earlier roles at UBS and Morgan Stanley involved managing client portfolios exceeding $150 million.
Beyond his professional work, Mr. Copeland is currently on the Board of Directors with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Foundation and the Steve Smith Family Foundation. Named the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year in 2014, he set a fundraising record for the organization. In his personal life, Mr. Copeland enjoys coaching youth baseball, traveling, duck hunting, and deep saltwater fishing.
Mr. Copeland earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida, where he received the 1996 Outstanding Male Graduate and became a member of the University Hall of Fame.
